Blue Journey has been landscaping Chicago's neighborhoods for over 10 years and is owned and operated by Michael Garza. Michael has been in the plant business for over 20 years and now specializes in indoor and outdoor landscaping for private residences, condo buildings and local business in the city of Chicago and near suburbs.
Indoor landscaping includes selection and setup of plants and pots for your unique indoor space. Recommendations are based on the overall design of your room and on the level of care your are willing to provide over time.
Outdoor landscaping includes custom design of front and backyards, patios, rooftops, planters and parkways. Water features - including Basalt fountains - hardscape and seasonal designs are also offered.
Hanging gardens are also now available from Blue Journey. The hanging gardens are comprised of unique pieces of wood collected over the past few years from a farm just north of Chicago and plants - mostly Ferns and Tillandsias or air plants - placed as nature intended, growing off natural grain. Individual vertical gardens and natural dish gardens currently for sale are listed here.
You are also welcome to check out the hanging gardens in person at the Blue Journey design space (shared with Zerobird screen printing studio) at 838 west Grand Avenue, in the River West district of Chicago - by appointment only. Custom designs are also available./

Walnut Tree hanging garden - $150
One of a kind hanging garden backed by a piece of stripped Walnut Tree and Grape vine. This wall gardens consists of various Ferns, Tillandsias or air plants, Philodendrons, and Nephritis grown in Sphagnum Moss and adhered to the tree.
The final garden has been acclimating for over 3 weeks to insure good strong plants and there is a wire on back for hanging. Care involves moderate watering with a spray bottle, good indirect light and a green thumb.
Gardens are only available for local pickup in Chicago and can be viewed in person at the Blue Journey Studio in River West. Local delivery is also available for a fee. Just contact with any questions.
